Valerie Eskinazi reflects on the life she shared with her late husband, Ralph.
Born and raised in Cairo Egypt before the start of the Suez Crisis which saw him being forced to flee to England as a teenager where he found the loves of his life - Valerie, and backgammon.
Valerie holds on to many precious photographs that remind her of Ralph - though many were taken by him, rather than of him, she presents two photographs of Ralph that have particular sentimental value;
A photograph of Ralph reading a newspaper during their first holiday together in Lytham St. Annes, and a childhood school photo of Ralph, front and centre, for a school production at the Lysée Français du Caire (The French Lysée, Cairo).
She dedicates the seat A18 (Circle) to her dear husband, Ralph Eskinazi.
